The Brewer's Art Painting
An oil painting I created for The Brewer’s Art in Baltimore, to celebrate the process of brewing itself.
The painting features Pauly, who had been brewing there for a decade at the time. I painted this from a series of composite photos we shot in the space, and we hadn’t discussed him wearing his hoodie, but it seemed like a nod to the Trappist monks that Brewers emulate with their Belgian-style beers, so we went with it.
It’s worth noting, and hard to tell from these images, but that canvas is large enough for me to stand completely inside of. It sits above a massive marble fireplace in the upstairs lounge.
